Design Decision Highlight
Scanning Function
The scan button in the banner of the home page helps users to scan an animal in front of users. Based on the scanning of its appearance, shows the information of pets
Three Hashtags + Filter
Identifies lost pets with three key hashtags and big images so that users can find lost pets more efficiently with concise, emphasized information. Also, users can search information according to filter: microchip id tag, date, time, and location.
Chat Function
Enables a direct conversation with other users to share information about lost pets. Users can share images, voicemails, and locations for meetups and efficient search.
Key Insights
The user group highly needs the dominant image sharing function of lost pets and chat function where they can discuss pet information.
Describing lost pets with three key words (hashtags) should be highly visible feature in the mobile app design
The filter should be organized and contain information like microchip ID, location, name, and type of animals.
Reward service is highly needed to prompt users’ participation in reporting lost pets and writing post.
